Description of Event: Oktoberfest, street fair, live music, food vendors, bounce houses, demonstrations

Streets to be Closed: Wilcox Street between 3rd and 5th Streets; Jerry Street between 3rd and 4th Streets; 4th Street between Perry and Jerry Streets; 3rd Street between Perry and Wilcox Streets

Parking Recommendations: The Douglas County parking garage, located at 3rd Street and Jerry Street, is open for this event. The Douglas County Parking lot located on Elbert Street between 3rd and 4th Streets is also opened. The Town of Castle Rock parking lot is 2 blocks south of the event at the corner of South Street and Perry Street. If you are joining us from outside of Castle Rock, it is recommended that you take I‐25 to Wilcox Street, go south on Wilcox Street to 5th Street, turn west and go to Jerry Street. The Downtown Alliance provides free shuttle service via the Castle Rock Trolley between the Town lot and the event, every 15 minutes, from 12:30 – 9:00 pm. Parking in residential areas east of the event venue is discouraged. We ask our guest to please drive responsibly. Medved Autoplex will provide free shuttle service home to our Castle Rock community guests.

Event Tips: Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to sit and enjoy the event. This event is generally very sunny so please bring sunscreen. The venue is big so wearing comfortable walking shoes is encouraged. Feel free to post photos on our Facebook page (Downtown Castle Rock).

Weather: We anticipate warm summer weather, so please bring sunscreen and water. In the event of inclement weather please visit our facebook or twitter page for the most up to date event information.

Sponsors and Vendors: We have a variety of sponsors and vendors to help make our event successful. There will be several local breweries; also Bubbles Liquor World and Republic National Distributing Company will provide alcoholic beverages for this event. We will also have food vendors at this event. German Bands will provide live music throughout the day. German dancers and other entertainment will continue throughout the day. There are a variety of bounce houses and free family activities offered at this event.

Entertainment and Activities

Rick Borger and the Average German Band will begin playing at 1:00 and Rhinelanders will begin at 4:30. German dancers will perform on the hour beginning at 1:00, and Sven (fire performer) will begin interacting with the crowd at 4:30 with performances on the hour beginning at 5:00. Stein hoisting contests will be held hourly on the half hour. The Fun Zone will be located in the north parking lot of the Douglas County Building and on Jerry Street between Third and Fourth. In addition, Xfinity will be in front of the Douglas County Building and will be showing various college football games throughout the day.
